How can USI help our company understand the root causes of FMCSA – BASIC alerts and the corrective actions that can mitigate their pricing impact on our insurance program?
USI engages safety resources to review Compliance, Safety, and Accountability (CSA) violations and look for areas we can correct with behavioral changes. USI’s propriety CSA Peer Analytic software can identify key action areas and/or areas where you excel compared to others.
A comprehensive review of regulatory impacts and CSA/Safer report scoring basics can lower claims costs and reduce premiums.
We’ve estimated the financial impact for you. Feel free to update the assumptions.
- Aids the Motor Carrier in identifying where to focus risk management efforts maximizing resources and optimizing outcomes
- Development of a targeted corrective action plan that will reduce violations and improve the Motor Carrier's bottom line
- Utilizing CAB Calculator, USI can adjust scores based on recommended action plan resulting in improved negotiated terms with underwriters
Through data analysis, we work with clients to develop corrective action plans where immediate attention is needed. Our evaluation aids in the preparation of a comprehensive narrative that highlights positive trends and remedial initiatives. This ultimately lends to more productive negotiations with the insurers and prevention of declinations.
USI purchases the same CAB software insurance companies use to evaluate motor carrier operations. CAB reports display DOT BASIC Scores, roadside inspections, crashes, financial analysis, insurance history, authorities, and more. CAB also cross references phone numbers, registered addresses, and contact information to identify “chameleon carriers” or other related entities.
USI provides drivers with safety training and with physical and psychological tools to deal with the many dangerous situations that arise while driving. Using analytics, USI is able to determine specific areas where changes can improve driver retention and safety, which include selection and hiring process, training procedures, dispatch operations, working conditions, and safety related rewards and incentives. By providing analytical data, personal support programs focused on increasing employee satisfaction can be developed and introduced.

In order to conduct our comprehensive review, USI will need just a few pieces of information from you, including DOT numbers and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration pin numbers for all regulated entities, auto liability loss runs for the last five years, and five years of historical unit counts and International Fuel Tax Agreement miles.
